OET Tennis Program Overview
OET Academy programs are designed for competitive junior tennis players who compete or aspire to compete at the highest level of sectional and national play. Our goal is to provide an environment where each student will grow as a player and a person on and off the court, and where each athlete will leave prepared to excel at the college level and beyond.
OET Teaching Philosophy
We use the following three pillars identified by Jonathan Stark to best equip OET players with the tools they need to reach their full potential and to perform at their utmost ability.
The OET coaching approach is closely aligned with the five principles outlined in the USTA Player Development and Coaching Philosophy: Patience, Progression, Parameters, Planning & Goals, and Problem Solving.

Mental Toughness
An emphasis on building resilience to develop competitive strength and character.

Physical Fitness
A focus on fitness and nutrition to develop mobility, stability, strength, speed, quickness, power, and conditioning.

Match Play
Weekly singles and doubles competitive matches with limited players on the court to maximize individual coaching opportunities.
Finally, while the OET coaches demand full-on effort and intense focus from our athletes, we also believe we can achieve our tennis goals while having fun.

OET Did You Know ?

Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is a global tennis player rating system intended to produce an objective, consistent, and accurate index of players' skill in the game of tennis. UTR rates all players on a single 16-point scale, without regard to age, gender, nationality, or locale of a given match. All professional players in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) have UTRs, as do most college players and many junior tournament players worldwide, as well as many adult league and tournament players. The UTR database includes results from more than 8 million matches and 200+ countries. More than 800,000 players have UTRs.
